Botox and Xeomin for Fine Lines and Wrinkles

3 Most Common Areas of Treatment: Glabellar Lines (Number 11’s), Forehead Lines, and Crow’s feet

As you age, repeated muscle movement from raising your eyebrows, frowning, and smiling can create dynamic wrinkles. For example, when you squint or frown, the muscles between your brows will contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. These wrinkles are what we call the Number 11 lines, and one of our most treated areas! Over time, your skin loses its elasticity and these repeated contractions can cause the dynamic lines to turn into static lines that become visible even when you’re not making an expression.

Neuromodulators like Botox & Xeomin, are the most commonly used FDA approved products for treating fine lines and wrinkles. Once injected, they block nerve impulses and relax targeted facial muscles. This action helps to smooth away those frustrating wrinkles. The procedure is very quick and only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. There is minimal downtime and results can be seen in 7-10 days and can last about 3-4 months.

Botox and Xeomin FAQs

Paramus

You will start to see improvement in the fine lines and wrinkles within a few days, but results fully take effect in about 7-10 days.

Visible results typically last up to 3-4 months. Your results may vary, so be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about what you can expect and when to schedule your next appointment.

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. The entire procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office without downtime after treatment.

At Chuback Vein Center, we take pride in giving our patients the most natural results. Treatment with neuromodulators will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look like you’ve “had work done”. The muscle activity that causes fine lines and wrinkles is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.

If you do not continue treatments, the fine lines and wrinkles will gradually return to the way they looked before treatment.

Hyperhidrosis

Don’t Sweat It!

Do you worry that you will perspire through your shirt during the day? Are you afraid to shake hands because your palms are often sweaty? Have you altered your lifestyle to avoid these embarrassing situations? If so, please know that you are not alone. It is estimated that 2% to 3% of Americans suffer from a condition known as hyperhidrosis or excessive, involuntary sweating. Patients with hyperhidrosis attest that the condition impacts all aspects of their lives, limiting their social and professional interactions and compromising their quality of life. Hyperhidrosis typically affects the underarms, the palms of the hands, and the soles of the feet. While many perceive this condition to be a result of anxiety or nervousness, hyperhidrosis is actually the result of the overactivity of the sympathetic nervous system, which can cause you to sweat spontaneously, even in comfortable, non-threatening settings.

At Chuback Vein Center, we can help you regain your confidence with the use of neuromodulators! Through a series of injections in the affected area, this product can temporarily inhibit nerve impulses that cause excessive sweating in the body, leaving you with a drier skin surface. The treatment lasts about 15 minutes and is relatively quick. A decrease in sweating is noted a few days after the injections and can last up to 6 months! Re-treatment at that time is essential to maintain continued, optimal results. Uncontrollable sweating is extremely embarrassing. Stop living with the problem and start treating it. Just one treatment can control this condition and improve your quality of life.

Hyperhidrosis FAQs

Neuromodulators are prescription medications that are injected around the sweat glands to temporarily inhibit nerve impulses that cause excessive sweating. This leaves patients with a drier skin surface.

Within days, you may start to see a marked decrease in the amount of sweating in the underarms, palms of hands, or soles of feet. Individual results may vary.

Results have been shown to last up to 6 months, and as long as 12 months. Your own results may vary – be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about what you can expect and when to schedule your next appointment.

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. The entire procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office without any downtime.

Dermal Fillers

4 Most Common Areas of Treatment: Cheeks, Nasolabial Folds, Marionettes, and Lips.

Over time, the aging process causes you to lose collagen, elastin, and fat in the face. Cheeks begin to fall, temples sink in, lips become thin, and the skin around the mouth and jaw begin to droop. Fortunately, cosmetic filler injections are a great way to restore volume loss and create a smoother, more youthful appearance!

At Chuback Vein Center, we create customized treatment plans to ensure that we address each of our patient’s concerns. This includes discussion of the use of hyaluronic acids versus calcium hydroxyapatite products for optimal results. Dermal fillers can add volume, lift, and contour to cheeks. They can also add plumpness to lips, improve downturned corners of the mouth, soften the fine vertical lines around the mouth, and define the chin and jawline. And these are just a few of the many improvements you can see! Dermal fillers are quick and easy to administer, and patients tolerate the procedure very well. Results are seen immediately and can last up to 6 to 24 months, depending on the product used and the area treated.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally present substance in our skin. This product is formulated to be a very soft, pliant gel. Radiesse is a cosmetic filler that is comprised of calcium-based microspheres. This product is different from other cosmetic fillers because it stimulates your own natural collagen to grow.

Hand Rejuvenation

Chuback Vein Center

As we age, our hands lose their youthful appearance. They start to develop brown spots and the skin texture becomes thin and translucent. But the most obvious change is volume loss. Once the hands lose their fatty plumpness, we start to see our bulging veins, and our tendons and joints start to protrude making the hands look bony and fragile. We work so hard to keep our fine lines and wrinkles in check on our face that we don’t want our hands to give away our age! And now we don’t have to. At Chuback Vein Center we offer hand rejuvenation, which is a combination of hand microphlebectomy to remove the veins and cosmetic filler to replace the volume loss. Hand microphlebectomy is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to treat bulging veins on the back of the hand. This is a simple in-office procedure that removes large veins through tiny incisions. Since the incisions are so small patients will not experience any scarring.

Patients can expect mild bruising and swelling that resolves within a few weeks. Otherwise, there is no downtime and patients can return to their normal daily activity immediately. Once the veins are removed, we use cosmetic filler injections with Radiesse to replenish the volume loss between the joints and tendons. Placed beneath the skin, Radiesse raises the skin level so that tendons and joints lose their prominence. Using cosmetic fillers for hand rejuvenation is a simple and easy in-office procedure that usually takes 30 minutes. Patients can expect some mild swelling and bruising that resolves within a few weeks. The patient can resume their normal daily activities without any downtime. Radiesse can also be used independently, especially in situations where microphlebectomy is not needed on a patient. With both procedures, results are seen immediately. By removing the bulging veins and replenishing the volume loss between the bony prominences the hands regain their youthful appearance and you can keep your age a secret!

Microneedling Facial

Microneedling is a medical procedure that is also a great way to address signs of aging.

Microneedling helps to improve fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture. This service is considered a medical procedure and our board-certified medical providers will make you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the course of your care.

During your visit to our office, our trained medical staff will draw a small sample of your blood and use our state-of-the-art equipment to separate and isolate the proteins from the sample. We then use a microneedle to safely and effectively inject the product into your skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing process to produce new collagen and elastin. Ultimately, this creates a smoother, tighter, and healthier glow to your skin!

The procedure takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. This can include just the face, or a combination of the face, neck, and décolletage.

Treatments can be ordered in single sessions. However, we do recommend that patients order a package of 3 sessions for optimal results. Each session will be completed 4 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments once a year are also recommended for continued, optimal results.

Immediately after treatment, you will notice some facial redness. However, this is a normal part of the process and will slowly subside over the next 3 hours. Within the next few days, the skin will appear tighter and brighter. In the long run, your skin will create collagen and elastin, which will result in an overall smoother texture to the treated areas.

Eyelash Enhancement

Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes. It works by stimulating eyelash growth to become longer, fuller, and darker. Latisse is applied topically and once a day (usually at night) to the base of your upper eyelashes.

Gradually, over the course of the next several weeks, you will start to see the described changes. Results can be seen in as little as 4 weeks and full growth should be achieved in about 16 weeks. Results will remain indefinitely as long as you continue to use Latisse. If you stop using Latisse at any time, your eyelashes will gradually return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months. Talk to your doctor to see if Latisse is right for you, and start growing your lashes today!

Eyelash Enhancement FAQs

Paramus

The exact mechanism of action is unknown, however, we do know that Latisse increases the growth cycle phase of your eyelashes. You can expect longer, darker, and thicker lashes with treatment.

Latisse is the only FDA-approved product to grow lashes longer, fuller, and darker for those who do not have enough lashes. It has been studied for safety and efficacy and is available only by prescription or in your doctor’s office.

The most common side effects after using Latisse solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. Latisse solution may cause other less common side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where Latisse is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.

Localized skin darkening, also called hyperpigmentation, can occur with Latisse, however, it is a less common side effect. Eyelid skin darkening occurred in approximately 2.9% of patients using Latisse. When it does occur, it is typically close to where the solution is applied on the skin — making the eyelid skin look a little darker. This is due to an increase of melanin in the skin, but is expected to reverse within several weeks to months after discontinuing use of the product.

Latisse is an ophthalmic solution. If any solution gets into the eye, it is not expected to cause harm. You do not need to rinse your eyes, although doing so can help get rid of excess product that can cause irritation. Latisse is not an eye drop. DO NOT APPLY in your eye or to the lower lid.

Latisse growth is gradual. Some may start to notice longer lashes after about a month and many should experience full results in approximately four months. If the use of Latisse is discontinued, eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over the course of several weeks to months.

Eye redness and itching can sometimes occur with the use of Latisse. If the redness or itching persists (or if you notice other symptoms), you should consult your doctor.

Just like it takes some time for Latisse to work to grow lashes, if you stop using the product, your eyelashes will gradually return to their previous appearance over the course of several weeks to months.

Yes, but you should take the contacts out before applying Latisse. Remove your contact lenses and then wait 15 minutes after applying Latisse before you put your contacts back in.
