This is Barbara. Barbara comes from Brooklyn to see me for her care. She saw several other vascular specialists in New York City and was told nothing could be done about her numerous non-healing leg ulcers. I’m happy to say she’s healed and feeling better than she has in years. It’s patients like Barbara that make all the hard work, long hours, study, and dedication to this challenging field worthwhile. This is Michael. Michael broke his leg in a terrible car accident 15 years ago which resulted in a severe blood clot in the deep veins of his right leg (DVT). He now has a problem called post-thrombotic syndrome which can lead to open ulcers on the leg. Michael has been coming to the vein center every day for intensive treatment and has made beautiful progress. He is thrilled to be pain free and walking normally again. I am so happy for him.
This is Ms. Hettie. She is a superstar patient. She has chronic venous insufficiency and had a non-healing ulcer on her leg. With intensive and loving care she is now completely healed. Her smile just says it all! Grateful to do important work and take care of sick people with vascular disease in our community.
