By Christina Carpio, Front Desk Coordinator & Special Projects Manager
When I started working at Chuback Vein Center over three and a half years ago, I never imagined just how dynamic and rewarding my role would be. As the Front Desk Coordinator and Special Projects Manager, I get to be both the welcoming face of our office and a creative force behind the scenes helping shape new initiatives, campaigns, and experiences.
A typical day spans about 10 hours, with a break for lunch where I can sit back and enjoy a quiet moment—sometimes out on our picnic tables if the weather is nice. Throughout the day, I greet and assist patients of all ages—from young adults to seniors—who walk through our doors looking for help with their vein health.
Every interaction matters. Whether I am scheduling appointments, answering questions, or helping a patient understand their insurance, I know I am playing a part in helping someone live a healthier, more comfortable life.
When I’m not at the front desk, I’m helping bring special projects to life. That includes assisting our marketing team, collaborating with the LymphCast Podcast Development team, and recently, helping design some exciting new LymphCast merchandise out this year! Being part of the creative process has been such a rewarding experience.
One of the biggest challenges in my dual role has been learning how to manage time and prioritize. At times, everything can feel urgent—but I’ve learned the importance of asking for help, delegating when needed, and always keeping a clear to-do list (which, yes, I often reorganize throughout the day).
Some of the most fulfilling moments in my career here have come from community and collaboration. One standout was being featured in Bergen Magazine alongside all the incredible women leaders in our office.
What truly fills my heart is the work we have done to support the Lymphatic Education and Research Network (LE&RN). Last year, with the support of our amazing staff, patients, and family members, we raised $1,070—and this year, we’re hoping to top it!
Since joining the Chuback team, I’ve gained a whole new understanding of the complexities of non-invasive surgical procedures, as well as the detailed guidelines behind insurance approvals. I’ve learned that venous insufficiency is a lifelong condition—but also one that can be managed with today’s advanced treatments. Years ago, these procedures required hospital stays. Now, patients can be in and out the same day with little to no downtime.
What sets Chuback Vein Center apart is our boutique-like environment and state-of-the-art office. Patients often complement our beautiful space, and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside a team of young professionals who are truly the best in the venous field.
What keeps me motivated is the blend of patient care and innovation. Every day, I see how healthcare is evolving—and I get to be part of that evolution. Whether it’s helping someone understand their coverage or being involved in our next big idea, I’m always learning and growing.
If you're stepping into a role like this, my biggest advice is:
Serve one patient at a time. Prioritize your time wisely—everything can feel urgent, but not everything is. Keep your to-do list nearby, and don’t be afraid to rework it throughout the day. You're not alone in that!
Looking ahead, I’m excited to meet new patients, continue supporting LE&RN, and help more people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. If you ever have questions about vein health—or just want to know if something is covered by your insurance—give me a call. Myself or one of my amazing teammates will be happy to help.
